carryonmyfallencas: I guess I never realized that the hard part of grief isn’t getting through those first terrible weeks. It isn’t the days after, the funeral, the constant reminders of what just happened through the concerned questions of your loved ones. The hardest part is living, experiencing new things, going on with your life—all while knowing that you’ll never get to tell them any of it. That they’re not there to see you achieve your dreams anymore. How can any of my achievements mean anything now? When you’re gone and you’ll never get to tell me how proud you are of me? How can I celebrate my birthday, when this is the first time I’ll grow older without you by my side? I miss you. I miss you. I miss you.
